As e-commerce booms, consumers are finding more ways to buy online. But as these card-not-present (CNP) transactions rise, so does fraud: In 2016, CNP fraud grew by 40 percent.
In response, merchants and card issuers are using transaction data—device type, location, consumer habits and more—to accurately identify and respond to fraud. The goal? Limit fraud without burdening consumers with unnecessary authentication requests.
